In Oakland County, we are fortunate to have Great Lakes National Cemetery in our backyard. Located north of downtown Holly, Great Lakes National Cemetery offers grave sites, burial liners, grave markers, and niches for the veteran and spouse at no charge. 

 

Coats Funeral Home takes care of all the arrangements, such as scheduling of the burial and committal service, securing the American flag for presentation, and arranging the honor guard to perform the presentation and present the flag. 

An important document for families to locate prior is the veteran’s honorable discharge papers commonly known as DD214.

 

If you prefer another cemetery, Coats Funeral Home will secure the American flag and honor guard for burial at any cemetery including a veteran headstone - also at no charge, except for cemetery installation fees. For cremation, we will arrange for military honors at the closing of the memorial service or burial of cremated remains at any cemetery with honors.
