About Us

Beautiful Great Lakes National Cemetery had their first burial in 2005.  The new 544-acre national cemetery will serve veterans’ needs for the next 50 years.  All honorably discharged veterans qualify for burial, along with their spouse, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Benefits for veteran and their spouse include: gravesite or niche, concrete burial container, and headstone are provided at no charge.

Coats Funeral Home will assist in scheduling burial and military honors.  All that is needed, and most important, is the veteran’s discharge papers (DD214).

Veterans benefits cannot be requested prior to death or a site selected at Great Lakes or arrangements kept on file at Great Lakes.  BUT what a veteran can do is have all the arrangements made and documented with the funeral home.

We invite you to contact us at Coats Funeral Home.
