MAZZA Joy Marie
of Clarkston, passed away November 2, 2017 at 91 years of age. Loving wife of Rudy for 70 years; cherished mother of Deborah (Ronald) Harris, Karen (fiancé Jerry Guidry) Mazza, Jeffrey (Corrine) Mazza, and Gina (Chris) Turner; grandmother of Bryce (Flora), Chad (Sarah), Toni (John), Drew (Stephanie), Brent (Erika), Trevor, Kevin, and Taylor (Julia); great grandmother of 8; sister of the late Perry (the late Joyce), James (the late Millie) Gates, and Dona “Sissy”, (the late John) Shedlowsky. Joy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, baking (her infamous sugar cookies), and parties – the perfect hostess. Most striking about Joy is that she lived up to her name with her sunny, positive, and bubbly personality, as well as doing for others made her the person you wanted to sit next to. Each day she tried to fulfill her goal of giving three compliments a day.
Sunday 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy and Monday AT CHURCH from 11:00 a.m. until time of mass.
Funeral mass will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at 12:00 noon at St. Perpetua Catholic Church, 134 Airport Road, Waterford.

How dearly Joy will be missed! Her obituary described her to a T. My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
Dear Mazza Family,
My heart truly goes out to all of you during this sad time.
91 years of JOY...??
I feel so blessed to have known Joy, even if it was just on the periphery of my friendship with Karen & Gina.
And those sugar cookies!!! Melt in your mouth! I will never have another sugar cookie without thinking of Joy.
May God give you all peace in your hearts.
Bless Joy’s heart in Heaven. ??
Because of Joy, our lives would forever be entwined with the wonderful Mazza family. Joy was one of the parts drivers when she first met Mark over 40 years ago. Can you just picture tiny Joy, hopping in and out of a truck?!
I will be forever grateful for knowing this beautiful lady. Watch over us all Joy & don't let the other angels get too fat eating your sugar cookies!??
