of Auburn Hills, went home to be with The Lord, June 29, 2017 at 89 years of age. Born April 5, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas the daughter of the late Willie and Julia Romo. Beloved wife of the late Paul T. Mendieta; loving mother of Erlinda (Don) Lawson, Olga (Bob) Longrie, Angie (Nick) Cutean, Delores (Joe) Saiz, Virginia (Richard) Tapia, Delia (Jim) Pruett, Gloria (Steve) Chrisman, Natalie (Randy) Whitney, Pauline Mendieta, Julia Mendieta, the late Robert (Maria) Mendieta and the late Paul Mendieta Jr.; dearest grandmother of 22; great grandmother of 34 and great great grandmother of 4; sister of Roy and the late Trinidad Romo. Esperanza was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord and her family.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday from 3-8 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy. Clarkston.
Friday July 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Church of Christ (3655 N. Squirrel Rd. Auburn Hills). Pastor Danny Johnston officiating. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Pontiac.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.

Aunt Esperanza was a big part thru out my life. All the visits she made on Taylor Rd. Visiting Family. Willie & Julia Romo and my parenrs Trinidad& Savina Romo. I enjoyed all the times we all spend together.. Shes always been loving and kind. I miss all good times with her with family on Taylor Rd. The Romos.. Love you always and forever..

We will miss Esperanza. We loved visiting her and all the funny things she used to say. She was so funny and full of life. She taught us so much, especially how to live life to its fullest!! Love to all the family!! Fly high Esperanza and give Paul a big hug and kiss from us!!
Mom, I'm so glad you were MY mom. You taught me so much and Dj and I will miss all your stories. You never ceased to amaze me. You were the strongest most courageous woman I have ever known. Our Lord gained a beautiful Angel when he took you home. You are free now precious! I love you very much and I will miss you more than words can say! I love you. Until we meet again.....????????
