LONGTIN Margaret Bernice
of Holly, formerly of Melbourne Beach Florida, went home to be with the Lord, January 14, 2017 at 94 years of age. Born on August 30, 1922 in Buffalo, New York the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Brown. Beloved wife for 60 years to the late Norman Longtin for whom she met and married after only 2 weeks of dating. Loving mother of Karen Viviano, Jeanne Longtin, Theresa Boks and Denise (Lawrence) Wolf; dearest grandmother of Michele, the late Michael, Rebekah, Josiah, Bryan and Erin; precious great grandmother of Isabella, Brody, Malaki, Sonora, Madison, Brooklyn and Margo. Preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Knepper and brother Roy Brown. In her early life Margaret went to Texas where she was a Rosie the Riveter working on the B 52 Bomber’s. She was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Holly, St. Mary Magdalen in Hazel Park and Holy Name of Jesus in Melbourne, FL.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sharing Time at 7:00 p.m. led by Pastor Kevin Cook from the River Worship Center, Romeo at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church (309 E. Maple St. Holly, MI 48442). Fr. David Blazek officiating.
Memorial donations may be considered to the Food Pantry at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Margaret’s name.
It is with deep sorrow over the passing of Margaret Longtin that I send my deepest condolences to the entire family.
Your mom as you know was the sweetest hardworking kind loving women ...and she made me laugh ..but i will never forget her complement to me...she told Denise Vicki is so pretty ..that to made me chuckle ..it put a smile to my face ..I will surely miss her smile., her babushka (scarf) on her head :) her tender kind words , her strong will ..Till we meet again ..Love, Vicki
